Before Times

A little museum for the work made before AI became a collaborator: the copy decks, web systems, school-era experiments, and late-night interactive things that built the instincts underneath everything else.

Marketing Copywriting

Folder 01 // Persuasion Craft

Copy as interface design.

The copywriting archive is where the old muscle memory lives: naming the thing clearly, finding the argument underneath the feature, and making every word pay rent. Before AI could produce a hundred plausible lines in a blink, the work was listening, narrowing, testing, and sharpening until the message could survive a skim.

What Belongs Here
Campaign copy, landing pages, launch narratives, email sequences, brand voice work, and the little headline scraps that still know too much.
Through-Line
Making business language feel human without sanding off the point.
Insomniac Games

Folder 02 // Systems After Midnight

The things made when sleep lost the vote.

This folder is for the playful, interactive, deeply impractical builds that happen when a simple idea refuses to stay simple. The value is not just the finished game; it is the loop of rules, feedback, timing, sound, reward, failure, and one-more-try energy.

What Belongs Here
Game sketches, prototypes, arcade experiments, scoring systems, odd mechanics, and whatever survived the night.
Through-Line
Interaction as comedy, pressure, rhythm, and tiny acts of world-building.
College Stuff

Folder 03 // Early Media Lab

The first messy operating system.

College belongs here less as credential and more as evidence of the first pattern: make a thing, learn why it is not working, make the next one stranger and better. This is where the raw materials live: essays, media projects, early production instincts, aesthetic obsessions, and the sense that the internet was about to keep changing the rules.

What Belongs Here
Student projects, old writing, production experiments, early reels, coursework, and the artifacts that show the first shape of the voice.
Through-Line
Learning to make meaning under constraints before the constraints had names.
GoDaddy

Folder 04 // The Platform Years

Small business web at very large scale.

The GoDaddy era is where craft had to survive contact with systems: product surfaces, marketing realities, technical constraints, stakeholder gravity, and the very real needs of people trying to make their businesses visible. It is also the bridge into the current AI chapter, back when language models were still weird internal possibilities rather than a cultural weather system.

What Belongs Here
Product copy, website builder work, small-business flows, brand and campaign fragments, and the experiments that foreshadowed AI-assisted creation.
Through-Line
Helping ordinary people get legible on the web without making the web feel ordinary.

Archive Notes

A container first, then the artifacts.

This first pass gives the Before Times a shape: four folders, one tone, and enough structure to hold real examples as they surface. The next version can add screenshots, excerpts, dates, campaign names, or short case-study drawers without changing the operating system underneath it.
